1st : Heated up my mouthpiece by blowing air through it, working on refreshing my tuning with scales. Played half notes up and down the scales several times.
2nd: Decided to try out some new strategies, used naps to help my mind relax and continued playing through scales.
3rd: Was very upset during this rehearsal, music seemed intimidating so I took a nap and came back, slowed all the music down using audacity and worked on breathing steadily
4th: Practiced with the recordings, using audacity to slow them down and hear where different people came in.
5th: Focused on listening to the drum set and percussion to see where the different fills were that would help me keep time. Marked them in the music
6th: Did a normal rehearsal, played through all the pieces several times. Testing both my endurance and accuracy overall.
Strategies:
– Napping
– Slowing recordings down
– Taking deep breaths
– Writing down the position of every note on the music
– Playing along with the full speed recording
– Recording self
– Scales
– Taking LONG breaks vs 10 minute naps
– Note checks!
– Playing in “chunks”
– recording myself using the recording as something to listen to
– Listening to the song while sleeping
