Day 8

Today, we started our morning out with a routine walk throughout sas and its surrounding trails.

We continued the morning by doing a Pilates class all together.

For lunch and afternoon activities, everyone got on a bus and drove to Waverly Place to eat at Whole Foods & have some down time.

Everyone also stopped at Fresca Cafe within the shopping center to get a treat.

Day 5

The first thing we did today was another beautiful 1 hour walk.

After that, we went to the Excel Fitness gym and did cardio. We worked in groups of 6 with intervals of 3 minutes at each station.

After that, we had a great time bowling at Buffalo Lanes!

After eating lunch at the Arboretum, we watched the movie “Food Inc” and learned more the corporate food industry in America.

Day 4

Today, we first started out with another scenic and beautiful walk through the SAS campus.

We then drove to Triangle Rock Club where we got to learn the basics of rock climbing and watched Dr. Todd and Mr. Follet race each other to the top.

Then we drove to Downtown Cary and went to get ice cream to reward ourselves for the hard work we put in while rock climbing.

We then finished our day with another scenic walk through bond park.

Day 7

Day 7
Hey it’s Trey,
Today our group walked to Lake Crabtree and it was a beautiful trek.
During the walk the boys (Enoch, Joe, Trey, and Neil) made songs just for fun. And the rest of the freshman gossiped about different freshman things. On the way back to school we stopped at Tropical Smoothie Cafe for a treat given by our teachers. Then we walked back to school so we could write our thank you letters to everyone that hosted us for our different workouts. After the thank you letters we all ate lunch before the iron chef competition. Around 1:30 pm eastern standard time, the health and fitness DT and the War Strategy DT participated in an iron chef competition. Guacamole and salsa was prepared for the judges. The two DTs were split into two teams between each other. The guacamole was made before the salsa and going in the taste testing the health and fitness DT thought the guacamole would win and the salsa would probably lose. And that was wrong we got swept, we lost in both the salsa test and the guacamole test. But it’s ok, the health and fitness DT was the best in clean up so who was the real winner? Oh here is a picture of the boys

Day 3

First we began our day with our 3 mile walk around SAS. Next we went to Excel Fitness to work out. Half of our class completed a kick boxing class while the other half completed a cycling class. After our workout we went to a strawberry patch to pick strawberries to bring back to make our smoothies. We finished off our day by making smoothies and watching the show Chopped.

Day 2: A punch, a Kick, and Some Greens

We started off the day same as always with a scenic walk through SAS. We made our way behind CA, throughout the SAS complex, down the road, and arrived at Title Boxing.

At our hour class we learned how to throw hooks, jab, and land some serious fire power. MK got a little too excited and challenged our instructor to get in the ring with her. She’s definitely not someone to mess with.

We then lugged our hot and sweaty selves over to Starbuck for a cool drink and a relaxing break before we made our way to downtown Raleigh for a fresh bite to eat at the all natural Happy & Hale restaurant.

Everyone got themselves a healthy salad and we all sat down and listened to the lively country music right next door.

Some of us just couldn’t sit still.

Afterward, we made our way to the final stop of the day: The North Carolina Farmer’s Market. We walked around amongst the greens and the flowers, seeing what was in season, and the natural colors of nature.
