The goal of the NCAIS Honor Band, founded in 2009 by Mr. Grush, is to give students the opportunity to perform with a large concert band comprised of the most talented 6th-12th grade concert band musicians from the NC Association of Independent Schools. Any 6th-12th grade student enrolled in an NCAIS independent school during the 2017-18 school year and who plays a concert band instrument is eligible to participate. Pranay and almost 150 other extremely talented high school students from around the country rehearsed for three days before giving a performance at the NAfME Convention (National Association for Music Education) in Grapevine, TX (outside of Dallas) on Sunday, November 13.

Here are some excerpts of the band rehearsing with Dr. Paula Crider, director emeritus from the University of Texas.
