Thanks to the many students who have volunteered. We should easily be done by 4:00PM.
Please sign in on the clipboard on the wall (same one for being tardy, forgetting music, etc.) so I can give you extra credit.
Jazz on the Quad is Monday, October 24 at 5:30 PM
Everyone is invited. Bring a picnic (no alcohol, pets, or smoking) and join us on the Quad for some Jazz.
MS Jazz Band, US Jazz Band, and the Jazz Combo will all perform, along with a professional jazz combo from Elon University.
The concert will end around 7:00 PM. Students who perform are expected to stay for the entire concert as well as help move equipment back to the bandroom once the concert is over.
Dress is ALL BLACK (see below for details)
Jazz Band students, we will decide on solos for each piece during the workshop on Monday.

Outfits
Please re-read the Performance Attire section of the band handbook and email me with questions. There are changes from last year.
- Ladies – BLACK dress shoes are best – but whatever works with your outfit is fine.
- Men – BLACK dress shoes. Maybe borrow a pair of shoes?
- Men – BLACK socks are black. White socks are not black. Any other color is not black. Wear socks. Black socks.
- BLACK dress pants, dresses, skirts/blouses as long as they are solid black – not patterned
- BLACK long sleeve shirts are best – as long as they are solid black.
- BLACK golf/polo shirts are fine – tiny embroidered logos are okay (not the huge polo horses, etc)
- Do NOT wear black shorts.
- Black jeans or sweatpants will NOT work
- Black T-shirts will NOT work
- Black warm up jackets or hoodies will NOT work
US Band Special rehearsal Wed. Nov. 2 from 5:30-6:30
US Band students only – This is the rehearsal with our guests. Winter athletes – please make sure you notify coaches if you will need to leave practice early that night.
Band Concert is Thursday, Nov. 3 at 7:00PM in the auditorium
Bring family, friends, neighbors, or anyone you can find!
Beginning Band, MS Band, and US Band will perform. We will also have some guests performing with the US band.
Students should be dressed and in place by 6:30PM sharp. Dress is ALL BLACK (see above for details)
The concert begins at 7:00PM and will end around 8:30PM , possibly sooner. Students are expected to stay for the entire concert and to help move equipment back to the bandroom after the concert.
